High Quality H2O!... oh and you can skip the alkaline water...

We often say this in almost all nutrition related articles somewhere, but why not devote an article to it! Water! Eau! Agua! It’s THEE MOST IMPORTANT thing to put in your body, you would likely die in about a week or so without it. It’s required for almost all bodily functions, and it makes up about 70% of the body tissues. Some benefits of drinking water are:

·         Required for conversion of food to energy

·         Boosts skin health and beauty.

·         Regulation of body temperature.

·         Flushes bodily waste.

·         Helps maintain blood pressure.

·         Joint Lubrication

This is a short list! So let’s make sure we are getting enough water and staying hydrated. It’s suggested that a generally healthy active adult drink about 2-3 liters a day, and one should consider that if you are feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated. So drink up! If bored by water, plain tea and coffee can count toward your water intake, and some foods (especially certain fruits and vegetables) have a high water content, but it’s still important to drink it. Try adding fruits, cucumbers, mint, or other flavorful things to make it more interesting. Unsweetened sparkling water is also an excellent substitute for plain still water, but slightly more acidic, so you don’t want to only drink that kind, and mix it up with still water.

Also, we know it’s all the rage to drink alkaline water these days, but there’s little to no scientific evidence that it’s any better than regular water. This is because you body has an very small range in which it will allow your blood pH to change, and several body systems are involved in its regulation. In this case, the digestive system. The relative acidity or alkalinity of any food or beverage you would eat is neutralized before it would have any possibility of effecting your blood pH. I’d suggest you save your coins.
